Faith in Action in Guatemala
For eight days, twenty-four missionaries embarked on a journey of faith to the remote regions of Guatemala. Among us were doctors, nurses, paramedics, therapists, interpreters, prayer warriors and volunteers—each one answering God’s call to serve those in greatest need. With willing hearts and a shared mission, we left the comfort of our homes trusting that the Lord would guide every step of the way. As it is written in 1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” Those words became our compass as we prepared to serve both physically and spiritually.
Our journey began with five hours of travel to Guatemala City, followed by another fifteen hours across rugged roads and mountains to reach remote indigenous and rural communities where access to medical care is almost nonexistent. The distance was long, and tough, but the purpose was greater. Isaiah 6:8 declares, “AlsoI heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” Every mile reminded us that God often calls His people to go beyond convenience in order to reach those who are forgotten.
Once we arrived, the mission came to life. Over the course of our days there, we had the privilege of providing medical care to more than 300 indigenous patients, offering not only treatment but compassion and dignity. At the same time, we shared the love of Christ with 150 children through evangelism, prayer, and joyful activities. Their smiles, their curiosity, and their open hearts reminded us of the beautiful truth spoken in Matthew 19:14: “Let the little children come to Me, and do forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

More than 300 adults in indigenous communities received medical care, and more than 150 kids were evangelized in rural Guatemala.
Yet this mission was not only about giving—it was also about learning. As we served, we encountered the richness of their culture, traditions, and community life. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed with warmth and gratitude. Despite the challenges they face, the joy and resilience of these communities shone brightly. Their hospitality reminded us that true wealth is often found not in possessions, but in faith, family, and gratitude.
This experience strengthened our conviction that when we step out in obedience, God multiplies every effort. Missions require courage, sacrifice, and faith—but the reward is witnessing God move in powerful ways. The call to serve is not reserved for a few; it is an invitation for all who are willing to trust Him. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9). May this testimony encourage others to step forward with courage and answer God’s call to serve.
