Step 1: Why We Need Salvation

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

No one is exempt from the reality of sin. We all fall short—not because God is distant, but because we were never meant to live apart from Him.

Recognizing our need is the first step toward receiving His grace. It humbles us, but it also opens the door to hope. God does not reject us for our failures; instead, He invites us closer.

Step 2: Jesus Died For Our Salvation

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

God did not wait for us to be perfect to love us. He loved us at our worst. Christ’s sacrifice is the ultimate expression of a love that pursues, forgives, and redeems.

Salvation is rooted in God’s initiative—His love moves first, and His grace covers everything we cannot fix on our own.

Step 3: The Gift of Salvation

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

Sin promises freedom but pays only in loss and separation. Yet God steps into our brokenness with something we could never earn—a gift. Through Jesus, death is replaced with life, despair with hope, and separation with restoration. Salvation is not a reward for good behavior; it is God’s loving offer to all who will receive it.

Step 4: We Are Saved By Grace

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” (Romans 11:6)

Salvation is a gift from God — pure grace — not something we earn by our efforts or good deeds. Romans 11:6 cuts to the heart of the Gospel: if salvation depended on our works, then grace would be meaningless. God’s grace is unmerited favor; it is God reaching down to rescue us when we cannot rescue ourselves. That frees us from trying to earn God’s acceptance and opens the way for a life lived in grateful response. Good works still matter — not as the source of salvation, but as the fruit and evidence of a changed heart. Let this truth bring humility, assurance, and devotion to honor the One who freely saved us.

Step 5: Salvation Comes Through Faith

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” (Romans 4:5)

This verse highlights the transforming power of faith. God is looking not for perfect works, but for a heart that trusts Him. Faith is the doorway through which we receive righteousness—it is believing that God can do for us what we can never do for ourselves.

Faith reaches into God’s promises, takes Him at His Word, and relies fully on Jesus for salvation. When we place our faith in Him, God counts that faith as righteousness. It is not the strength of our faith that saves us, but the One in whom we place it. Faith becomes the bridge between our weakness and God’s power, between our brokenness and His restoration.

Step 6: God Saves All Who Call Upon Him

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

God’s promise is wide enough for anyone and personal enough for you. “Whosoever” means every person, every background, every story. Salvation is not limited, restricted, or complicated. It is available to all who call on Jesus. This verse reminds us that hope is always one prayer away.
